Thanks to all who contributed to my knowledge while I carried out my tests on animated GIF files.
The results that I obtained gave me some guidelines for getting the best quality animated photo images.
1. Size all images required for the animation in PSD format to the target size that will appear on the page.
2. Create the animation, and write it to animated GIF format.
3. Upload the animated image to a photo server.
4. Use the URL of the image on that server to place the image in the post.
5. Edit the HTML code of the post to specify the correct width.
I have deleted the posts that I did during my tests, so all the associated comments have gone to look for Santa at the North Pole.

Glad it is all sorted.
It is good that you also sorted out your profile picture. I have not got a profile as I have 2 blogs over here one is for work and the other for fun and when I tried to do my profile for elles corner it brought up my other one as well. I want to keep them separate.

To Elle. Hi, you must have created both blog using the same Google ID. To late now probably, but I'm sure you could have created a second Google ID for the second blog, then you'd be able to have separate profiles for each!

ReplyDeleteI did create the 2 blogs with the same ID, but that does not matter to much trouble to change now. Blogger are always coming up with new things and separate profiles might be it one day.

I did that pic animation for my phone screen-saver. It intrigues eveyone that sees it. They think it's something I got off the web, but it's my special boy sitting in his mom's staw hat on a plastic chair in the pagola. I created the animation the first day that I bought AfterEffects.

ReplyDeleteLove the photo Douga. I had trouble at first getting my ID photo into my profile. The download just wouldn't work. I tried again the next day, and it was easy. Just a system glitch I think
ReplyDeleteI prefer the way the BB handles graphics better that the way BS does. It's the one thing that I don't like about BS. It's not flexible enough, for some things you have to use a hosting service to get things to work at all.
I often put animated GIFs in comments on BB without any effort at all. It's difficault to do that here.
