Our Man Douga Is A Man OF Hidden Strengths

I have just visited Doug's site for the second time. I didn't take the time to read his post the first time, but I did this time.

I was so ashamed of my first comment that I removed it. In light of what I read I could not justify such a bland comment that didn't even speak of what Doug wrote about.

I strongly urge my friends to read Doug's post http://douga57.blogspot.com/2007/10/my-first-post-on-blogspot.html, where Doug has given us a unique look into his soul.

Good on you Doug and God bless. And thank you for sharing your experience with us.

  1. G'day Terry, thanks for your comment. I noticed that you like using natural light in your photography, so do I. I used to have a 35mm SLR and I liked using it on a tripod in low light situations(I would post some of those photos but scanning the prints I have dosen't do them justice), when I can afford to buy a DSLR I will try to get some low light shots. The digital camera I have now is very limited in that area.

  2. Hi Douga. I used to have similar equipment (in fact I still do, but I've gone digital these days). A Pentax 36mm SLR etc. And I took a great many natural light shots of Melbourne at night in my younger days.

Unfortunately, what with a couple of divorces and house moves, I think those photos have taken off to find the Easter Bunny. I wish them luck on their journey!

I also used to have some shots push processes by Kodak in those days. Did you ever do that?

The reason was that the higher speed colour films suffered in resolution taking night photos, so it was better to use a lower speed film and do the push processing. The equivalent these days would be to adjust the Gamma I suppose!
